ORANGEBURG, S.C. (AP) — Dustin Scott scored 17 points and grabbed 11 rebounds as the College of Charleston defeated South Carolina State 94-72 on Monday night.The Cougars (4-1) were 9 of 18 on 3-pointers, leading to 36 of 60 from the field.
The College of Charleston jumped out to a 21-point lead at the 11:25 mark of the first half, sparked by a dunk by Donavan Moore to cap a 9-0 run.Antwaine Wiggins and Donavan Monroe scored 13 as Jeremy Simmons added 11 and Marcus Hammond scored 10 for the Cougars.Jason Johnson led South Carolina State (3-1) with 19 points and 10 rebounds, and Jason Flagler added 18 points.The Bulldogs turned the ball over 18 times, while tallying 18 assists.
