A commercial development described as the largest in the state’s history is coming to North Charleston, according to a news release from Mayor Keith Summey’s office Monday morning.

The joint venture between The Weiser Companies and Weber USA is supposed to be triple the size of the Centre Pointe Development; the mayor’s office said that development created more than 2,000 jobs.

“This development will have a tremendous economic impact throughout the Lowcountry,” Summey said in the news release. “We are proud to have the opportunity to work with these companies in bringing new economic vitality to North Charleston.”

The mayor’s office said more details will be released at a Tuesday afternoon news conference.
