Wordpress Workshop at #chscowork

It was another busy day for #chscowork at the rehava Real Estate Store. rehava opens it’s doors every Tuesday to #chscowork and gives local freelancers and entrepreneurs a venue to exchange ideas. At the conclusion of today’s session participants had the opportunity to learn more about Wordpress ( a very popular website and blogging platform). This session covered everything from basic installation of this web platform to advanced configuration for social media and content syndication.

Ian May, John Turner, and Jared Smith presented a session on WordPress following #chscowork. Ian walked us through how to get started with WordPress on both WordPress.com and self-hosted WordPress installations. Jared did a great job going through his favorite plugins and showed us the ways that he integrates Twitter and other social media tools into the sites he develops. John showed us the newest version of Wordpress including WordPress MU and Wordpress 3.0. The upcoming changes in WordPress 3.0 are really expanding the application of Wordpress as a development platform. John showed us behind the scenes on one of his newest projects, http://bandpress.org. This highly modified version of Wordpress gives musicians everything they need to establish their web presence.
